Pocket puppies london - puppies, Photography and…cowboys?

Where do I even begin with this puppy portrait session?

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Lois, owner of Pocket Puppies London, for over six years, and every session is a joy, filled with laughter, warmth, and more puppy cuddles than I can count. This time, Lois commissioned a collection of portraits for a beautiful litter of five-week-old Asian Micro Poodle puppies, alongside imagery of her adult dogs to thoughtfully document their age progression.

Working with Lois is always a privilege. She is an ethical, deeply conscientious breeder who places the health, welfare, and happiness of her dogs above all else. Every parent dog is DNA health tested and clear for up to 270 conditions, while her stud boys undergo BVA eye testing, brucellosis testing, and, in many cases, full X-rays. This level of transparency and care is rare, and it shows in every confident, contented dog she raises.

So, why did Lois want a puppy portrait session? Because her puppies are her masterpieces, her pride and joy, and they deserve to be presented with the same care, quality, and attention to detail that goes into raising them.

Your website and social media are your digital showroom, setting expectations long before a conversation ever begins. After all, would you place your trust in a breeder whose images feel rushed, amateur, or poorly lit? Of course not.

High-quality branding imagery goes far beyond capturing sweet expressions and wagging tails. It creates an emotional connection, one rooted in trust, credibility, and quiet confidence. Thoughtfully composed, beautifully lit images communicate professionalism, discernment, and an uncompromising attention to detail. More than that, they reflect the genuine care, ethics, and devotion behind every puppy you raise.

Lois is known for thoughtfully naming each of her litters, and this one was no exception. A true country music enthusiast, she dubbed this charming group the ‘YEE-HA’ litter. With names like Dallas, Rusty, Moo Moo, Texas, and Woody Boots, it felt only natural that, as the session unfolded, we introduced a blush-pink backdrop and the sweetest cowboy hats to complete the look.

I don’t know about you, but I’m completely obsessed with how the group portraits turned out!

This session was so much fun, and both Lois and I were thrilled with the results.
