About Holly Freja

Holly is an award-winning dog and small pet photographer based in Cheshire who loves capturing your best friends to freeze timeless moments.

Reach Out

As a child, Holly’s heart belonged to two rescue Boxers, Jess and Kayleigh, and a Frenchie called Reggie. They were her constant companions, her joy, her safe place. Looking back, she wishes that she had beautiful, professional portraits of them, the kind she could proudly display in her home today.

My Reasons

The animals and people who’ve been part of her life have taught Holly one powerful truth - life is far too short. That’s why she chose to combine her passion for photography with her love for animals, capturing beautiful moments that will be cherished forever.

Sally and Dora the Dachshund

“We had such a great experience with Holly Freja Photography at the weekend. Our outdoor session was so relaxed and enjoyable, even when the walk got a little muddy (sorry again!), Holly and Ethan were total troopers. They were incredibly patient and had so many clever tricks to get Dora to look at the camera with her tongue not hanging out. The photos are absolutely stunning, even better than I could have imagined. HIGHLY recommend!”

When Holly isn’t photographing Cheshire, Liverpool and Manchester’s best dogs and small pets, you’ll probably find her on a National Trust trail or with her husband, Ethan and their Bearded Dragon Stumpy - who is definitely a lizard of leisure!

Holly also cherished Ethan’s dog, Tilly, who had been by his side since childhood. A gentle and loving labradoodle, Tilly passed away in July 2025 at the age of 14. She had the sweetest nature and will always be remembered as their golden girl.

Over the past few years, Holly has had the pleasure of working with, and been featured in many different places:

Chloe and Bella the Labrador

“We had the best experience, Holly and her partner were amazing! We can’t fault anything! They were professional but so friendly and easy to talk to which instantly put us at ease. They took the time to make sure Bella was comfortable and were very patient with her. We really enjoyed the outdoor photoshoot and love all of the pictures so much! The communication was great and we got the photos back so fast! I’d highly recommend Holly to anyone and will definitely go to her again when wanting to book another photoshoot with Bella!”

The Future

In the future, Holly plans to travel across the UK in search of its most beautiful locations. Along the way, she wants to work on a project photographing every recognised breed of standard dog, though she knows that it may take some time to complete! The question is, will you be part of her journey?
